I’ve been struggling with winding down at night and realized that I often spend my evenings sorting through old letters and personal documents. I noticed that some people use tools like [lettersboxed.com](https://lettersboxed.com/) to digitize and organize their letters. I’m curious if anyone has noticed that doing this kind of task before bed makes it harder to fall asleep or worsens insomnia.

Has anyone experimented with different ways of handling personal projects in the evening? For example, does doing them earlier in the day help, or are there techniques to prevent this kind of mental activity from interfering with sleep?

I’d love to hear any strategies or personal experiences. Trying to figure out how to balance staying organized with getting a good night’s rest.

I have noticed anything emotionally or mentally engaging before bed keeps my brain on longer even if it feels calm at the time.Doing that kind of organizing earlier in the day helped a lot and I save evenings for more passive wind down routines now.
