I’d be interested to hear what sources of assistance with CPAP issues other users have found.
Specifically, I’ve been using a CPAP/APAP machine for many years, but I still have occasional issues with mask fit, leaks, etc. I usually try to find assistance online, including YouTube videos, including many from equipment manufacturers and suppliers. If that doesn’t work, I’ve tried contacting my pulmonologist or DME supplier.
However, my experience has been that the doctor knows all about sleep apnea, but little or nothing about CPAP therapy itself. Likewise, the employees of the DME supplier is focused on making sure that I have enough supplies, but doesn’t seem to know enough to recommend specific products, such as masks. Even if the supplier has a respiratory therapy on staff, their availability often seems to be limited to dealing with patients with “real” pulmonary issues, e.g., those that use oxygen, etc.
So I’d appreciate if others can share info about their “resources.” Thanks.
