Hi all! I’ve been using CPAP for around 2 weeks now, and I have to say, my sleep doesn’t seem to have improved at all. In fact, it’s gotten even worse. I got used to the mask and can fall asleep fine, but every day I start feeling extremely fatigued and sometimes I wake up feeling bloated or have a headache. What’s going on? As far as I’m aware I’m using the machine correctly. Any advice?
2 weeks isn’t enough, it took me MONTHS to start feeling like my sleep was improving, literally like 3 months.
Yea, you just gotta keep the conversation going with your doctor and be patient. Took me longer than that forsure.
Have you checked your sleep scores from the machine? They will tell you if you have mask leaks and other episodes.
How are you doing now with your CPAP?
I’ve just been trialling mine for a week so far. I don’t feel any different but also not my AHI numbers aren’t changing either despite having little trouble using it and the machine itself saying no leaks.
Love the support - It’s totally normal for CPAP therapy to take some time before you start feeling the full benefits. Your body is adjusting, and sometimes it can feel like you’re more tired before things get better. Keep using it consistently, and if headaches or bloating continue, definitely check in with your provider to make sure settings and fit are right. Hang in there — better sleep usually comes with patience Wishing you all restful nights ahead!
